Fruit Fest Continued............

Day 3: Blueberries.......we are fortunate to have 4 blueberry varieties at home that were developed for central Florida. I keep them in pots because constant watering in the sandy soil is too much hassel. Plus our native sand has a pH of 7.2.........too high for blueberries.
So we put them in outside area covered with 30% shade cloth to keep the birds away. This works great since we only have 20 pots.
The harvest starts in a week or 2 and goes thru May. Some plants rebloom and we get some fruit at other times of the year. They freeze really well and make great cobbler or pie. However, we mostly eat them fresh...YUM...
