I have to get out more...........

Went to big nursery today.......had a whirlwind 2 hour tour....My head is still spinning.....Saw lots of neat stuff and learned a lot more....there are some amazing new plants out there......The conclusion = I really do not know much about horticulture on the worldwide scale........the massive numbers of plants produced still boggles my little mind.....I will share more thoughts on this once I have time to chew on this visit......

A rooted Dieffenbachia 'Sparkles' cutting from Central America. They looked really good. Oh yea, that is my baby.... Posted by Picasa

The adeniums at home are still in heavy bloom even in late November. That says it has been a warm fall. Warm fall is a good thing.......... Posted by Picasa

Tecomaria capensis (cape honeysuckle) is in full flower now. These bushes are about 5 feet high and across. I think they would be great planted around the base of the much taller Mexican sunflower (Tithonia heterophylla) shown in earlier photos. Posted by Picasa

Some of the ornamental grasses at work with other flowering plants in background. I am too lazy to look up the names of these grasses since I do not work with them.  Posted by Picasa

Here is the current status of my blackberry crop. This is a 40 foot row - not bad since it all started last May with 3 unrooted cuttings. Now I am in discussions with my mother (the pie expert) regarding how to make pie crusts. Posted by Picasa

Mice in the Greenbean.............grrr........

It started 2 mornings ago when our cat Zeus was hanging around my car looking up at it from all angles. That was strange behavior. When leaving work that day I noticed small amount of shredded paper on the floor. That night I put mice bait in the rear hatch area as a guess, but it was not touched the next morning. However, the bait was chewed on sometime during the next day at work. Today, more paper pieces and more bait eaten. Now we have a crisis as I do not want to rewire the dash in the greenbean. Will attack the mice tonight with great vigor. Life in Florida.

The evidence - shredded paper on floorboard under the dash. Posted by Picasa

The cure - a well eatin chuck of poison mice bait in the rear hatch area. Posted by Picasa
