Gators on the Prowl.......

Go Gators..........This is the second time this has happened at work. Last time our caretaker messed with one and ended up stumbling and breaking his hip. At least this time "Mean Gene" stayed out of the action. Me -- well I arrived after the event was over.

Last try. Ok so I tried once more and it worked. Somewhere down below is the caption to this photo. I still feel Grrrrr.... Posted by Picasa

I gave up............but then tried again and hooray...

It is becoming very frustrating to upload photos. My most recent attempt failed because Blogger keeps butting into my normal route. However, the pretty words went. So enjoy the photos in your imagination.

Plus it has become very tiresome to try and download photos to my computer due to various IT problems.

Blogger keeps messing with me this week and my camera eats batteries faster than ducks poop. So heck with it for the moment.

Enjoy my new 'word blog' with such goodies as "to hell with it all".

Two hours later.....Wait..... I tried again and succeeded. Oh I love this blog stuff. Opps here comes another billion word blog.............or not.....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......................yeah........................I'm confused......

In the foreground is my new pet plant called Tithonia heterophylla (Mexican Sunflower). The photo was taken on June 23, 2006. I want to see how big the plant gets before is starts flowering this fall. I have seen plants that get to be 20 feet across and 15 feet high. Yeah. Posted by Picasa

This is one of my favorite mandevilla hybrids. Posted by Picasa

Here is a nice double flowered mandevilla from my greenhouse. They are pretty but I am not all that fond of them compared to the standard single flowered types. Posted by Picasa

Finally got the photo of the 'mama' angel wing begonia. Can't wait for the white hybrid (in a previous blog) to get this big. Posted by Picasa

In case the figs falter, we also planted 3 Fuyu persimmons. They produce yummy fruit in August/September. Time will tell. Posted by Picasa

Unable to show the mother begonia but will try again later. Instead herre are 3 new Brown Turkey figs we planted. Hope to spare them from the borers and have summer fruit. Posted by Picasa

Finally Got the Above Post to Work................

This is the third attempt to post this - Grrr Here is a photo of an angel wing begonia hybrid of mine. I kept it because of the profusion of white flowers. It should be spectacular in another year. I will show its mama tomorrow.

I tried...............

Sent a photo in today but it did not post, although it said it did.
Will try again tomorrow.
It was a cute little photo.

This is an angel wing begonia that I grew from seed just to see if I could do it. This was the best flowering one and the only seedling I kept. Tomorrow you get to see the mama plant and what I hope this one becomes in another year. Posted by Picasa

My day today.....................

Arrived at work 7:30.
Worked on a nice little paper for trade magazine..
Made plane reservations for New Orleans.
Website down so could not made hotel reservations.
Back to work on the paper - progess is slow.
Toured the greenhouse and mapped out the weeks work.
Worked on the stupid paper again.
Toured the lab and wrote up this week's experiment.
More futile attempts on the damn paper. Grrr.......
Answered a phone call and got stuck with another tour next week.
Called the dermatologist and got appt. for same day as with dentist - duh.
Lost the last part of the %$#&%# paper as our power burped.
Decided the whole %$#@# paper sucks.
Gave up and will take it home for mosaic mom to fix.
I love mosiac mom.
Going home soon.

Happy July 4th....
