Blackberries doing well for 2008...

Here is the 2008 row. It is about 6 feet across and 2-3 feet high. They are just coming into peak flowering this week. The honey bees are working them over. Maybe we can get a few cobblers and a little jelly.... maybe lots of both....even better..

It is Adenium (Desert Rose) Pollination Time....

The temps are up and the adenium are starting to flower. I get to be a bee this weekend and make some seeds. Of course the mites are on the rampage too so a battle it will be.

Sand Hill Crane Day.....

I walked up on 2 sand hill cranes today near our building. Ran and got my camera and got these photos...Maybe they are part of the new landscape crew....

They were very unafraid and had no problem taking bread pieces that were offered.

They did do a good job of weeding.......might hire them OPS..........

My New View..............

We finally got rid of the catepillar infested Oleander outside of my office.....It has been chewed on constantly for years.......I hope to install my own test garden with some unusual plants.....Not sure if the powers that be will go for this idea or not but I cannot do any worse than the previous layout......

Stay tuned........this could be interesting........

The view out my office window as of this morning.........
