Happy 30th Anniversary Mosaic Mom....!!!!!
I am one of the lucky ones....
Knowing and loving Mosiac Mom is a blessing....ever day....
Ever day there is something fun happening.....
30 years is not very long.....such a shame.....
Of course the first 30 is the fastest.....
At least I am getting slower.....
I hope the clock does too.....as I don't want this to end....

Why I Like to Hate Racoons..........
Mosaic Mom grows a great crop of pineapples every year. This year the racoons have taken a liking to her good work. They have destroyed 6 beauties so far (see photo below). The latest raid was last night. Not sure what to do other than build new doors for the pineapple house. Maybe I should call a trapper in but that can get messy.
At least, as of this morning, there are still some great pineapples left but I guess the racoons are well aware of that too. It just never ends.

New Aglaonema Selected for testing.....
Had a couple of nurseryman in the research house last week and we selected a new aglaonema for propagation and testing....I only had one 8-inch pot of it so today I divided it into 12 pots. Hopefully by Xmas I can recut it and get going on the research we need to complete before eventual release (2 years from now).
It has extremely dark blackish leaves highlighted by a silver venation running along the lateral leaf veins. It should be awsome. It is not good to show the plant at this time (don't want to start the patent clock ticking) so instead here are a couple of photos of the reasearch greenhouse.

Below is a bench of Aglaonema hybrids from which the new one was selected.
Three Cheers for "Plants are the Strangest People".
I finally checked into the "Plants are the Strangest People" BLOG today and was quite impressed by all the information.
There was a nice dissertation on the genus Aglaonema....one of my favorite aroid genera. If you are interested in breeding techniques for Aglaonema I have recently published them, along with detailed microscopic photos, in the IFAS EDIS publication.
