Also put strut bars on the front and back. The greenbean no longer leans into the corners - awesome. All roads seen straight now. Posted by Picasa

To pass the time, I put new sway bars on the front and back of the greenbean. Boy that was fun - but thank God for the lift. Yea lift....... Posted by Picasa

A template -- part of my new art process. Posted by Picasa

My new art process...........

After 6 months, things have calmed and cooled down to where my interest in sculpture can be revisited. So I decided to make one for my mother as she liked the flowering bush outside our bedroom window. So a 4 x 10 foot sheet of 16 gauge steel was obtained --- has anyone noticed the price of steel..........

Before, early in my sculpture career, pieces were made at random and stuck together rapidly and changed around until they fit. No plan - just action – in couple of days the thing was done. It always seemed to be a rush to finish, fit, cut, weld grind and hurry, hurry, agonize to get proper alignment and finally to see the finished product. It was almost stressful. What the hurry was I do not know, but I got all stirred up about creating something that should be fun. Maybe it was artistic passion -- more like artistic gas I think.

This time the process is different. I am proceeding more like with the greenbean restoration (my loving '73 240z) where it was do a little, stop; do a little more later. After 6 years the car was done. So, for this new sculpture, a model was made out of cardboard and studied for a couple of days. Mosaic mom was called in as a consultant – thank God for her wisdom. Then the templates were adjusted and used to cut out the leaves – slowly – do one and stop, think, rest, and then do another. It actually became fun – no hurry.

Now I am working on the flowers - they are represented by the circles in the photo. In a couple of weeks it could be finished. Maybe not. For now a template photo is below. That is the way art projects should be. Besides I will have the templates stored and can make several more pieces once the orders come rushing in..........

Made a template for new sculpture. Going at it slower this time. Posted by Picasa

Here it is at the start of its trip. It had been sitting next to the railroad for a week. Cool site for a Sunday morning in the fog. Posted by Picasa

I like big things and this thing was big. They had to remove our phone line from across the road so it could pass. Posted by Picasa

Sunday the power company began moving this giant thing up the road to its new home. Traffic was really backed up. They had 46 miles to go. Posted by Picasa

What has been happening.

I have been quiet the past few days with T-giving ect. Of course quiet is my natural state. However, a few things have been going on. The weather has been good for me has allowed for a few projects to get finished. They will be detailed throughout the week with photos.

Here are the bananas, peppers, oranges and tomatoes - all homegrown and pesticide free. Posted by Picasa

I am horticulturally content now that my first banana crop has been harvested. They are small but mighty tasty. Posted by Picasa

Computer Crash Slows MosaicMom

I did it this time. Tried to backup some folders on the home computer and messed it up. The computer is now in a loop da loop and won't turn on. There soon will be a loop around my neck (at least there should be)if it is not fixed. It is now in the shop and hopefully Dewayne can save the day (and me).

Fow whatever reason dealing with a stubborn computer is unnerving. The stress levels rise rapidly with no end in sight. Wonder why this is. Hard to deal with things you cannot see or understand I guess. At least I am off ebay.

Mosaicmom in on the road spreading good will today so the computer will be missed less than usual. We do have a backup but still it is just not the same. So here I sit waiting for a call from Dewayne. Oh brother.

Working with plants is so much more fun. They are big, the problems are pretty much self evident and VISIBLE. Besides you can often eat you mistakes in the garden. On the bright side, the 20 broccoli plants and edible pod peas are thriving and the coming cold front will spru them on to greatness. Hopefully Mosaicmom will get to tell you all about it soon - I hope.

I like to think happy thoughts about going surf fishing but with all the weeds it is impossible right now. This certainly has not been a good year. We need a couple of weeks of hard west winds and big tides to clear the beach. Posted by Picasa

Although not ornamentals per se, a field of vegetables sure is a pretty thing. Posted by Picasa
